Our private lodge, which specialises in catering exclusively for between two to six guests, runs on solar power and offers drinkable borehole water. It is nestled peacefully in the dappled shade of majestic indigenous trees in the Kosi Bay sand forest. The Kosi Bay area is situated in the northeastern coastal corner of South Africa.
By day guests can enjoy the forest which is alive with squirrels, Samango and Vervet monkeys and an abundant array of bees, butterflies and birds. By night, the bush sounds come to the fore, when owls may converse with each, bushbabies might squabble in the trees, and sometimes a lonely nightjar calls. All these sounds gently ease the silence under the starry African skies.
Chinderera Eco Lodge offers you a touch of rustic African luxury blended into the beautiful coastal forest. The chalets are secluded amongst the indigenous trees, ensuring privacy, peace, and tranquility. The rustic luxury of the spacious interiors, large surrounding open windows and hand-crafted furniture, and en-suite, open-air bathrooms, all combine to delight and invite guests to immerse themselves in the nature that surrounds them.
Each unit has an outside balcony from which to sit and relax. The chalets are named after great African rivers. Lualaba and Rufiji each offer a queen bed with Rufiji able to accommodate an additional 2 guests in single beds in the family extension. Our latest luxury unit, Kalabo, is currently under construction and due to open in early 2019. We invite you to leave behind the daily hustle and bustle of life, and come and enjoy the relaxing pace of the African bush. But you will still be able to stay connected with friends and family with our uncapped wifi throughout the entire lodge and rooms.
Kosi Bay offers visitors a wide range of unique experiences, and we encourage all our guests to book in for at least 3 nights to allow 2 full days to explore the area and appreciate the diversity. Some of our activities have been custom designed in collaboration with the local Tsonga people, and are available only to Chinderera guests.
